Welcome to Singapore Chinese Girls' School

An SCGS Education promises you a balanced, holistic yet rigorous education in the care of a capable and committed professional team. Our vision to be an asset to the country by developing capable women of character and relevance defines the direction we take as we develop world-ready 21st century women leaders.

SCGS is an all-girls full school in Singapore which takes a child from Primary 1 (6 years old), through the Primary School Leaving Examination, to Secondary 4 (sixteen years old) to graduate with the GCE O -Levels. This widely recognized exit examination marks a critical crossroad from which point our girls may choose different paths leading to many possible educational and career options.

Singapore Chinese Girls’ School will offer the Integrated Programme (IP) for selected Secondary One pupils beginning 2013.

Singapore Chinese Girls’ School (SCGS), CHIJ St. Nicholas Girls’ School (CHIJ SNGS) and Catholic High School (CHS) will collaborate to offer the IP for selected Secondary One pupils beginning 2013. From Year One to Four, the IP will be offered in the respective schools but these IP pupils will progress to a newly established Government junior college for Year Five and Six. The six-year IP will be collaboratively designed so as to allow pupils from SCGS, CHIJ SNGS and CHS to progress seamlessly into Year Five and Six, leading to the GCE A-level examination in the new Government junior college.

Congratulations to our Secondary 4 pupils of 2011

Our Secondary 4 batch of 2011 has excelled in all domains and done the school proud. They are testament to the distinctive SCGS all-round education as these girls have been outstanding in both curricular and co-curricular areas.

In the 2011 GCE O-Level Examination, our pupils continued the high standards set by their seniors before them. They have maintained a strong mean subject grade of below 2. 50% of the cohort scored an L1R5 of 8 points or below. Most subjects showed improvement while others were maintained at a high level of performance, comparable to the last two years. The top girl, Denise Ann Tsang of Secondary 4 Sincerity, scored 10A1s.

With these good results, SCGS is among the top Band 1 schools.

All this would not have been possible without the consistent hard work, ambition and tenacity of our 2011 Secondary 4 girls and their very supportive parents. Our dedicated teaching and non-teaching staff have also shown strong support to our girls throughout this journey and special credit goes to all the teachers who have taught these girls from Secondary 1 to 4. We wish our Secondary 4 batch of 2011 all the best in their future endeavours and are confident that they will go on to impact society in positive ways.

For admission to our Secondary Division, there is a change in PSLE Cut-off point for Affiliated pupils:

There will be a study and a review of the refined Cut-off point following this.
