Parents are a very important part of the SCGS community. They are the pupils' primary caregivers, with the school acting in loco parentis ie in the place of the parent in their absence. Today, when children spend long hours in school for both academic and non-academic purposes, it becomes more critical that parents partner the school in imbuing a common set of values in the child.
At SCGS we are pleased that parents are interested in what we stand for, and that when they entrust their child to the school, they have a sense of the school's mission, vision and values, and share the school's belief in these.
The school takes communication with parents very seriously and apart from school letters and direct communication between individual teachers and parents, the school also ensures that there is a cycle of briefings and dialogue sessions in order that all parents are kept informed of developments and given the opportunity to ask questions and give feedback.
